Rev. Michael David S. Severson
Introducing AllChurch's New Staff Pastor
January 10 · 2010
"We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us." (I Thessalonians 2:8)

This is the heart of God the Father, which is shared by Michael David as well. Coupled with the with word "ministry," it is Loving service to others in the power and grace of the Lord as only He can do. It is also Michael's Mission Statement in how he lives to serve the Lord and others..

About Michael David

To understand a little bit about Michael David, you have to understand the meaning of his name. His full name is: "Michael David Steven Severson." From Hebrew, Greek and Norwegian, This name truly represents the birthright the Lord gave him 50 years ago: A Beloved One Like God Who Is Crowned And Victorious." As he will share with you, his name is also his testimony.

"I was raised in a religious home, but it was not until I was 16 years of age that I had a true encounter with a Living and powerful God. I knew all the forms and rituals that Christianity had to offer, but I lacked the substance of heart and authenticity that a personal relationship with the Lord would bring.

Two years later, while serving in the military, I was connected even further to that authenticity, as I studied Scripture extensively between my duty assignments at a coffeehouse run by the base chapel. I was mentored by a great man of God and another strong student of Scripture, Tom Parks. He poured out his life and wisdom he had gained from Scripture into my life for nearly 2 years straight. This set the foundation for the ministry that would come later.

When I left the military, I found myself working with a coffeehouse ministry in my hometown almost immediately. I found myself getting plugged in right away, and reaching out to others in the community.

Two years following this, I found myself at Last Days Ministries in  Texas, followed by a short-term mission project to the middle east, and then on to the US Center for World Mission. I worked with the Media Department there, and later as the Communications Director for  East-West Gospel Ministries. While there, I met and married my wife Sandra.

We found ourselves reaching out and ministering even on our honeymoon, and we knew that we had an important call on our lives. Time would reveal this in a number of places and events that the Lord would lead us to.

From Churches to the darkest street-corners of inner cities, we reached out wherever the Lord directed us. We walked into events hosted by those in the New Age Movement, and shined the Light of God's Love. This in turn, touched others to ask us why we were different from those they saw around them, or why we had such peace that was evident in our faces. What a wonderful opportunity we had to share what the Lord had done for us!"

Michael David also is a survivor. On June 28th, 1987, he experienced a fatal accident at his workplace where he worked to support his ministry work at the US Center. He fell nearly 40 feet after undergoing a strange experience where he felt like a giant fist hit him squarely in the middle of his chest. He blacked out, pitched backward, and fell head-first to the concrete below at the Circuit City warehouse he was laboring in.

With a sickening crash that was heard throughout the building, his body crumpled into a heap, and instantly, he died. But that would not be the end. Suddenly, He knew he was in the Lord's presence, and the reality of His Love enveloped Michael David like a warm comforter. There was only peace and complete assurance of where he belonged.

However, he also knew that it was not his time. As much as he was comforted by where he was, it was time to return. With that, Michael David regained consciousness, yet without any pain or anxiety whatsoever, much to the puzzled looks of the paramedics who had worked on him. It was this experience that gave him a fearless attitude about sharing about the Lord, and what lies ahead when every person steps into eternity.

Other trials would come his way, but with the help and grace of God, his last name, which was the final word to who he is in Christ Jesus, brought victory in the face of the obstacles he encountered. These included the loss of his wife Sandra and other family members. Despite the pain of these moments, the call to remain true to his destiny prevailed.

In 2006, Michael David entered Rhema Bible Training Center, and completed the Pastoral Ministry course 2 years later. After a year of outreach in the Pacific Northwest, Michael David has joined Allchurch Outreach to focus ministry to others through the use of various media such as audio and video production and the internet to extend his ministry reach around the world.

Michael David will be sharing insights from Scripture on this website, and he is currently writing a book about the Ministry of Reconciliation. He is also here to answer prayer requests and answer questions of a pastoral as the need arises.
